Boston Metro says indie movie is a low budget charmer

Boston Metro

John Black
Working Stiff

A low-budget charmer about a frustrated corporate video maker who needs to raise $10,000 or lose the lease on his south end brownstone. His solution? Make an adult film at night when the rest of the staff is gone. Good-natured adult fun brought to life by good acting and director Greg Joyce's well written script.

"Working Stiff" may not have the production values of a film like "My Big Fat GreekWedding," but it has just as much spirit, if not more.

Anyone going to see the flick for a vicarious thrill will be disappointed. Despite the subject matter, Joyce has created a surprisingly tame movie that depends on human nature more than graphic images of the human reproductive system for its humor.

In a world gone crazy for gross-out humor, it's nice to see a good old fashion comedy.
